Store clerk attacked during Elk Grove robbery

A store clerk was attacked during an armed robbery of an Elk Grove Walgreens store early Friday morning.

According to Elk Grove Police Department reports, an unknown suspect entered the Walgreens store on the 7200 block of Laguna Boulevard at 1:46 a.m and confronted a cashier with a black handgun and struck the clerk in the head with the weapon. The cashier then opened the cash register and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect then exited the store and fled in an unknown direction. The suspect was described as a black male with a light complexion, thin build, wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, a grey hat with a black bill, and a mask over his face.
