When Elk Grove Police stopped a scooter-driving man early Friday morning they made an most unusual discovery of contraband.
According to police department reports, patrol officers stopped 62-year old Dari Shales of Rancho Cordova who was seated on a scooter at the intersection of Sheldon Rd. and Bradshaw Rd. for expired tags. Officers observed the key in the scooters ignition and that the suspect displayed objective signs of impairment.
A search of Shales led to the discovery of a pair of composite knuckles and more interestingly, a stun gun built into the knuckles. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail.
