Long-time patron O.C. Communications notes low inventory at food bank
The Elk Grove Food bank announced yesterday that they had received a $20,000 donation from an Elk Grove business.
The large donation came from long-time sponsors Craig and Carla Freeman from O. C. Communications. As long-term patrons the Freeman's are interested in the mission of the food bank and visit often to see how programs are working toward meeting clients’ needs.
After touring our warehouse recently and noting the low inventory and empty shelves, Craig Freeman presented Executive Director Marie Jachino with a check for $20,000 and a promise to fill the empty shelves designated to store sleeping bags for our homeless clients.
"The money will be used for services that are crtically important to our community to assist individuals and families with food, clothing, supplies and support services they need while the get back on their financial feet," said Jachino. "The generous support of donors like OC Communications makes it possible for our organization to exist and helps us continue our mission."
