Proposed connector will go through Sheldon
Special to EGN From Wilton Action Group
The Connector JPA Board met at 8:30 on Friday, October 14 at the Rancho Cordova City Council Chambers. The main purpose of the meeting was to vote on the Adoption of the Preferred Alignment of the Connector.
The Staff Recommendation: Approval of the Alternative 2 Alignment which consists of Kammerer Road, Grantline Road and White Rock Road and includes an in-corridor multi-use path. (See map here.)
The JPA Board voted 5-0 in favor of Alternative 2.
Alternative 2 keeps the Connector on Grantline Road through the Community of Sheldon. The Deer Creek Bypass was not included as an Option or as an Alternative.
The Connector itself will take years to complete and will be done in segments. The integrity of the Cosumnes River-Deer Creek Floodplain is maintained.
