The "Occupy Wall Street" protest movement that started over a month ago in New York has spread across the country to the point that it has now reached Elk Grove.
Accordingly the Elk Grove version of the fledgling protest movement will add their own local spin when a "99 to 99" protest march will be held this evening.
Local organizers of the Occupy Elk Grove group will be conducting a march from Colton Park to the Laguna Blvd. Highway 99 overpass this afternoon. The march is planned to start at 5:00 p.m according to the group's Facebook page.
One of the mantras that has developed out of the movement is that the protesters represent 99 percent of the people in opposition to the one percent of Americans who control the vast majority of American wealth.
