A 17-year-old male was stabbed Saturday night after he tried to detain another youth suspected of stealing money.

According to Elk Grove Police, the victim was eating at the Taco Bell on the 6600 block of Laguna Blvd. when he saw a 15-year-old male suspect that had stolen money from his friend enter the restaurant. When the suspect saw the victim, the suspect ran out of the restaurant.

The victim caught the suspect and attempted to bear-hug the suspect until police could arrive. While the suspect was being held, he pulled out a folding pocket knife and stabbed the victim twice on the hand.

The victim sustained two stab wounds to the left hand. After stabbing the victim, the suspect ran into a nearby store where he was detained and handcuffed by a security officer. EGPD officers responded and recovered the knife used by in the stabbing.

The suspect was taken into custody then transported to juvenile hall. The victim was was treated by medical personnel at the scene.

Facts are inncorrect , suspect had already been in the restoraunt socalled victom nd other friend approached the suspect. the victom and friend confronted him, victom and friend left suspect was stil in the restoraunt , suspect left victom and friend chaced the suspect , victom began chocking the suspect with the collor of his shirt suspect sliced his hand for self defence
