Thanks to several vigilant witnesses, Elk Grove Police were able to apprehend two men suspected of attempting to burglarize a car yesterday afternoon.

According to police department reports, several witnesses observed two men attempting to enter a locked car with a pry tool on the 8600 block of Elk Grove Blvd. When one of the suspects was approached by one of the witnesses, the suspect ran to an awaiting car being driven by the other suspect.

One of the witnesses provided a license plate number and responding officers were able to locate the car. After being detained by officers, witnesses were able to positively identify both suspects.

Police arrested 31-year-old Terry Wagner and 29-year-old Andrew Nuener, both of Ione, Calif. Both suspects were transferred to the county jail.
