In a random drawing conducted by the California Secretary of State, the order in which the six candidates names will appear on Elk Grove's first ever mayoral ballot were announced today by Elk Grove City Clerk Jason Lindgren.
According to the random drawing, the order on the ballot will be as follows:
Sophia Scherman – Retired Businesswoman/Councilmember
Lynn Wheat – Registered Nurse
Greg Higley – Business Owner/Notary
Gary Davis – Elk Grove City Councilmember
LaWanna Montgomery – Educator/Business Owner
Jerry Braxmeyer – Elk Grove Business Owner

Well at least Sophia will come in first in at least one listing this year.
Sad to see so many in this race...there are a few legit entries but some that clearly don't know or understand the issues facing our city.
Yes, everyone has the right to run for office; however, IMO, you need to "ready" to run; "ready" to win and come in prepared to take office. Several of these folks, IMO, do not have the skill set necessary for this race. Prime example is Ms. Washington. She bring nothing of value to this race. She might be a "nice" person, but she does not have what it takes to be our mayor.
OOPsss...I meant Ms. Montgomery...
