Elk Grove School District Trustee and candidate Jake Rambo will be serving root beer floats Sunday afternoon.

From free root beer floats and hot dogs to food trucks, Elk Grove elected officials and candidates will be back-slapping and glad-handing at three different events this weekend.

The first event will be Elk Grove City Council Member Gary Davis' Elk Fest that starts at noon today. The event will be held at Morse Park and will feature free hot dogs and entertainment.

Although Davis is running for mayor, the event is not being promoted as a campaign event per se, he will have a campaign table set up.

On Sunday afternoon, Elk Grove Unified School District trustee and candidate Jake Rambo will have an event at Karamanos Park at 8671 Magnolia Hill Way from 2 to 4 p.m. and will feature complimentary root beer floats.

More information is available by calling (916) 508-3725 or by visiting Rambo's campaign website.

And finally on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m Elk Grove Mayor Jim Cooper, City Council Members Steve Detrick and Cosumnes Community Services District board members Rod Brewer, Rich Lozano and Michelle Orrock are hosting a food truck event at the Rotary Grove of the Elk Grove Regional Park, In addition to the 15 food trucks, there will be entertainment and an adult wine and beer garden. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Elk Grove Police Activities League.
