Elk Grove Police were able to apprehend a man accused of reckless driving yesterday morning with the help of tire spikes.

According to police reports, officers responded to Laguna Blvd. and Old Creek Drive after receiving reports of a reckless driver. When officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, 36-year old Marcus Hill did not yield and led officers on a low speed pursuit.

Spike strips were deployed on two occasions which resulted in the front tires of the vehicle going flat. Officers utilized the PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver which disabled the suspect’s vehicle.

Hill was arrested without incident, processed at EGPD then transported to the county jail.
