The Elk Grove City Council appointee candidate pool decreased today when one of the candidates withdrew their name from consideration.

According to Elk Grove City Clerk Jason Lindgren, Marc Foster has voluntarily withdrawn his name for consideration from the pool of applicants seeking appointment to the vacancy on the city council. With Foster's withdrawal, there are six qualified candidates seeking to fill the vacancy created when Gary Davis was elected Mayor and vacated the District Four seat.

The remaining candidates are scheduled to appear at a forum held at 6 pm. this Saturday at the Elk Grove City Hall City Council Chambers. More information about the six candidates is available here.

The city council could move to fill the vacancy with an appointment at next Wednesday's regular meeting. To be appointed any potential candidate needs a majority of the four current council members.
