Elk Grove Tanning Salon Robbed at Gunpoint

A tanning salon on Elk Grove's north side was robbed at gunpoint last night.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, two unknown suspects entered the California Sun tanning salon on the 8400 block of Elk Grove-Florin Road just before 7 p.m. and confronted a salon employee. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun and demanded money from the employee.

Fearing for their safety, one of the employees opened the cash register. Both suspects then reached into the register and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

Both suspects fled the location on foot and responding officers were unable to locate them. No shots were fired and nobody was injured during the robbery.

The first suspect was described as Black male adult in his 20’s, 5-11, thin build, wearing a black zip up hoodie with white/red letters on the front, blue jeans and was armed with a handgun. The second suspect was described as a Black male adult, unknown age, 5-11, thin build, wearing a white/grey horizontal striped hoodie with light blue jeans and was wearing a ski mask.
