Stronger neighborhoods...

Capt. Benjamin L. Willard said...

One of the interesting aspects of this is that on a TV news report, many of the neighbors thought the residence was empty. Surely one of the "growers" or an occasional car would have to be seen by the neighbors.

More than likely this is probably increasingly typical in our neighborhoods city wide - people simply don't bother to know their neighbors. This typically happens in neighborhoods were there are a preponderance of renters.

No matter how much Mayor Davis spins his little catch phrase of building stronger neighborhoods, with a large portion of local residents being transient in nature, you will never, never have strong neighborhoods without owner-occupants.

I fear we are fast becoming a suburban version of an tenement slum.
