Elk Grove Police Arrest Fleeing Shoplifter

Elk Grove Police arrested a suspect with outstanding arrest warrants who fled in a car after he was allegedly seen shoplifting.

According to police reports, 42-year old Michael Williams of Sacramento was observed shoplifting at the Bruceville Road Kohl's department store. Store personnel were able to give responding officers a description of the car Williams fled in.

Police located the car and initiated an enforcement stop. A record check revealed that Williams had an active warrant for his arrest.

Williams was arrested and taken to the county jail where he remains in custody on $55,000 bail.
