An Elk Grove woman was hospitalized yesterday after a suspected home burglar assaulted her.

According to Elk Grove Police, an unknown male suspect entered a house through a rear window on the 8800 block of Shasta Lily Drive on the city's northside. The suspect confronted the 18-year old female occupant of the residence upstairs, demanded money and punched her in the face.

The suspect then grabbed the victim by the arm and pulled her into the hallway and continued to demand money. During the assault, the suspect threatened the victim.

The suspect fled the residence after not obtaining any money. The victim suffered visible injuries to her face that were treated at an area hospital. 

The suspect was described as a black male adult, 20's, 6'0", 160 lbs, wearing a denim jacket, blue jeans and work boots.
