Very strange that you must live, work or go to school in Elk Grove to participate; that the event is called "Fittest of Elk Grove" yet proceeds go to ROSEVILLE PD??? What's up with that!!! Poor choice of benefactors. Couldn't this event find a local cause? The EG food bank; Chicks in Crisis; our very own PD??? Weird that's all, just plain weird!! If I wanted to support ROSEVILLE, I’d move to Roseville.
Don't panic....it's early in the morning and just a little typo. If you read the article it says, "benefiting the Elk Grove Police Activities League (EG P.A.L.)."
Well, I don't see anywhere where on this press release where it mentions EGPD or EGPAL. So are you saying this is type of company we're dealing with whereas they cannot even get their press releases right? Too busy to create a new press release or easier to just recycle last week's release but forgot to proof read?? Big difference.
As a matter of clarification the press release sent on this states the following: "This event is benefiting the Roseville Police Activities League (RPAL)."
I went to the link in news feed and it clear up my question that this is for Elk Grove PAL. Sounds like a great event.

The event is Saturday and they are just getting the press release out now and then forget to put the correct benefactor's name whose 501(c)3 charity non-profit status they are using to call this a charity event.
Some great planning going on here!
GEEZ...

The 'fittest' website states the Elk Grove Police Activities League is the beneficiary of the proceeds from this event. The press release stated the Roseville Police Activities League was the beneficiary. Sorry for any confusion this might have caused.
My head is spinning, I need to go sit down. Guess I won't be a contender in this event!
Dear Richard,
It's okay. To clarify for you, Anon 8:05, Anon 9:18 and Anon 9:28 are obviously postings from the person putting on the event....or family.
The person putting on the event screwed up and sent out a press release with the wrong information. Hopefully the person has everything else done correctly. From information put out following last year's event, there is great potential for injury; at least as stated by commentators reflecting on the activities from last year's event. This is event is not for your average gym-goer.
