In what is quickly becoming a common occurrence, a late night shoplifter at the Elk Grove Blvd. Wal Mart led Elk Grove Police on a pursuit.

According to police reports, 22-year old Marscellious Andre Taylor of Elk Grove was allegedly observed shoplifting in the store and then fled in a vehicle. Patrol officers were able to locate the vehicle fitting the description given by Wal Mart employees.

After detaining Taylor, police did a records check of Michael Elijah Williams of Elk Grove, an  occupant of the vehicle, and found that he had an active arrest warrant in Alameda County. Both suspects were arrested and taken to the county jail where both remain in custody.

Earlier this week Elk Grove Police were led on a vehicle and helicopter pursuit by Elk Grove Blvd. Wal Mart shoplifters.

Maybe we should assign an EG police officer to be a door greeter!

It is unfortunate that the taxpayers are saddles with this place. Not only is this place a magnet for shoplifters, it sounds like the parking lot is becoming a dangerous place. You won't find me there alone at night.

One more thought - maybe the city ought to strongly encourage Wal Mart to hire off duty EGPD officers. That might help reduce costs to taxpayers!

Maybe they should put a beacon on top of the roof so the police helicopter can find it faster!
