Two men were arrested by Elk Grove Police late last night following a disturbance.

According to police reports, officers responded to a disturbance on the 9000 block of Willowberry Way and could hear loud screaming and reportedly saw a 54-year old man being punched in the face by 23-year old Howard Walls of Elk Grove. When Walls saw the police enter, he allegedly punched the victim in the face again.

Officers deployed a taser to subdue Walls and as he was being tasered, 23-year old Johnnie Willrich allegedly pulled out one of tasers probes and yelled at the officers. Walls was eventually handcuffed and Willrich left the house and upon contact, displayed signs of impairment.

Willrich initially resisted attempts to detain him but was eventually handcuffed without incident. Both men were taken to the county jail and Walls remains in custody ineligible for bail while Willrich is being held on a $1,000 bail. The victim suffered visible injuries to his face.
