Elk Grove Police made several arrests this weekend stemming from eight domestic violence incidents, five of which occurred on Saturday.

Among  those arrested on suspicion of domestic violence was 45-year old Abe John Chavez of Elk Grove, who, aside from inflicting a visible injury on his victim, spit on a responding police officer. Chavez is being held at the county jail on $60,000 bail.

In another incident, 48-year old Alfonzo Ward of Elk Grove was arrested and being held at the county jail on a $60,000 bail on suspicion of false imprisonment, domestic violence and violation of a domestic violence restraining order charges. The suspect reportedly punched two victims during the incident after violating a restraining order.   

In all but two cases, victims suffered visible injuries with five of the suspects arrested being men with the balance being woman. All of the females suspects inflicted visible injuries on their victims.
