The City of Elk Grove will hold an information session tonight on the proposed Highway 99-Whitelock Parkway interchange.
The information session will consist of several information stations highlighting aspects of the project. City representatives and the project consultant team will be available to discuss the proposed interchange.
The session, which is from 6 to 8 p.m., will include a presentation by the project team at 6:15. The meeting will be held at Pavilion Building at the Elk Grove Regional Park.
More information about the project is available at www.egpublicworks.org/whitelock-interchange.asp

Bad timing...last game of the World Series.
I was looking forward to this meeting, planned to be there, but I'm not missing Game 7 of the World Series, especially when considering how the city has IGNORED THE CITIZENS imput in other projects.
This meeting is just so the city can check it off that they have met with the citizens and asked for their imput, knowing they were going to ignore their concerns and comments before the meeting even starts. This is our history, this is the way Elk grove does business.
Thinkin' you're right Bruce. Attended many of those meetings and in the end saw nothing that even resembled what was presented or dis cussed..one being SEPA!
When the developers wrote the General Plan in 2003, they were smart to put in the interchange as a way to open up the area to the west for tons of homes. By the time the city gets around to actually putting in the interchange, the traffic will be so bad, residents will be begging to have it put in. The city will merely shift the dog park and other amenities elsewhere in the park. Plus, whatever final design they go with, Caltrans will be the bad guys, so our 5 Amigos will have clean hands.
I say dig a pedestrian-only tunnel...
