This is a discussion of how the Mayor and Council Member will handles relations with the Cosumnes Community Service District following the blowback after they decided to explore a possible takeover of the district's parks and recreation operations.

Here is a missing piece of the puzzle. If the city of Elk Grove pursued this, and the unfortunate word that Pat Hume used was “takeover,” not merger, the CSD Fire District would not stand alone as a separate district for very long. It wouldn’t be long before the Sac Metro Fire Dept. would want to “take over” the CSD Fire Dept.
And would residents of Elk Grove and Galt, for that matter, really want that? I think we can all agree we have the best fire department in the region.
