Elk Grove Police Locate, Arrest Sacramento Shooting Suspect

Elk Grove Police located and arrested a man suspected in a Sacramento shooting incident early Saturday morning.

According to Elk Grove Police, officers responded to the area near the Elk Grove-Sacramento border near Franklin Boulevard and Cosunmes River Boulevard to assist Sacramento Police who were investigating a possible shooting. A witness indicated they followed the car into Elk Grove.

Elk Grove Police officers located a car fitting the witnesses description near Laguna Boulevard and Laguna Spring Drive and conducted an enforcement stop. Officers detained 25-year old Giovannie Estrada of Sacramento.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a sawed-off shotgun. Estrada was arrested and booked into the county jail.
