Man Attacked, Robbed in Brazen Daytime Elk Grove Mugging

A 34-year old man was robbed of his cell phone in a brazen mugging Saturday afternoon in Elk Grove.

According to Elk Grove Police, the victim was in a parking lot on the 10000 block of Bruceville Road when he was approached from behind by an unknown suspect. That suspect punched the victim in the face, grabbed his cell phone and ran away.

The assailant was seen getting into a silver four door vehicle that was occupied by two other people. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 18 to 25 years old, 5`10", 150 lbs., wearing a red hat, a white tank top shirt and a tan shorts. 

The victim did not sustain injuries requiring medical attention. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspect or the associated vehicle.
