Elk Grove Police Arrests Man With Stolen High-Capacity Handgun

A man is in custody in the Sacramento County Jail after he was allegedly found with a stolen handgun late Saturday night.

According to Elk Grove Police, 22-year old Quinton Palmer was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a vehicle code violation on the 8200 block of Calvine Road. A consent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a stolen handgun in the trunk.

The handgun was loaded with a high-capacity magazine and officer determined that it belonged to Palmer. The suspect is being held on $50,000 bail for five felony charges and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
