Sheldon High Student Holding Fundraiser to Benefit Black Live Matter For Senior Project

As part of her senior class project to conduct a fundraising event, starting this weekend a Sheldon High School student will be conducting one of two barbecue dinner events to benefit the Black Live Matter movement.

"I chose to do this project because I see the struggles African-Americans continue to go through on a daily basis," Jacqueline Burnett said. "The project is to show African-Americans, not just in our community, but everywhere, that people are trying to make a difference."

The first event will be held tomorrow and the second one on Saturday, March 26. At each event all contributors will enjoy at to-go dinner available for $10 featuring barbecue chicken, green beans, potato salad, and a roll.

"I decided to donate the proceeds to the Black Lives Matter Foundation because I feel that the movement highlights everything African Americans have been through throughout and want nothing but to secure our livelihood," Burnett said.
