An Elk Grove man is in custody at the Sacramento County Jail after a Wednesday evening incident where he allegedly threatened the victim and a child with bodily injury.

According to Elk Grove Police, 20-year old Darran Stampley was involved in an argument on the 8100 block of Pond Brook Way. The victim, who was seated in the car with a child, was approached by Stampley, who allegedly pointed a handgun at them.

The victim left the area and called Elk Grove Police who dispatched officers to a residence on Pond Brook Way where they contacted Stampley.

After detaining Stampley, officers located a BB gun in his bedroom. As Stampley was being arrested, he allegedly became combative and was placed in WRAP restraint system.

During their contact, officers also discovered that two other people, 19-year old Regina Moore of Sacramento and 40-year old Tommie Burns had outstanding arrests warrants. Along with Stampley, they were arrested and booked into the county jail.

Stampley is being held on $75,000 bail and faces a felony charge of threatening to cause great bodily injury and two misdemeanor charges including child endangerment. Stampley is scheduled for arraignment on Monday afternoon.
