An Elk Grove woman is in custody at the Sacramento County Jail after she allegedly assaulted an ex-friend.

Yesterday afternoon 22-year old Christina Romeo (pictured above) was involved in a verbal argument with her former friend near Elk Grove Boulevard and Four Winds Drive that escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, Romeo allegedly punched the victim in the face several times and another person, a 17-year old male, shoved the victim to the ground.

The victim suffered visible injuries and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment. Romeo and the juvenile were later located and detained.

Romeo was arrested and booked into the county jail where she remains in custody on $50,000 facing felony assault charges. Her arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. The juvenile was taken into custody then issued a citation and released to a relative.
