Video - Construction Moves Along on Sheldon-Waterman Intersection Roundabout in Elk Grove

On July 5, 2016 the City of Elk Grove, Calif. closed the intersection of Sheldon and Waterman roads for the construction of a long-awaited traffic roundabout.

Even though Sheldon Road is in Elk Grove's rural area, it has become a major urban-type artery connecting the bedroom community and its residents to jobs in nearby Rancho Cordova. As Elk Grove continues its struggle to attract high-paying employers to the city, traffic along Sheldon Road and other east-west roads connecting to Grant Line Road is expected to become increasingly congested.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by August 3, 2016.
