The Elk Grove Police Department and the City of Elk Grove Integrated Waste Department will team up with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. A drop-off event is scheduled on Saturday, October 22 from 10 am to 2 pm at City Hall.

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the community about the potential for abuse of medications. This one-day event provides an opportunity for citizens to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs free of charge and anonymous with no questions asked.

Participants are encouraged to remove all pills, tablets and capsules from their packaging and consolidate them into one bag before disposal. Needles, auto injectors, or other sharps will not be accepted.
