Elk Grove Police Arrest Man Suspected of Golf Cart Drunk Driving

A Sacramento man was arrested last Friday night on suspicion of operating a golf cart while under the influence.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9, Elk Grove Police officers were dispatched to Meadowsweet Way and Park Meadows Drive regarding a collision involving a golf cart. Upon arrival, police contacted Michael Howard, 24, who was observed riding the golf cart on a residential street.  

Upon contact, Howard displayed objective signs of impairment and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. An open container of an alcoholic beverage was found in the cup holder of the golf cart. 

Howard was arrested, booked into the Sacramento County Jail and released on bail. .
