At One Minute Before The Witching Hour, Dutch Bros. Will Open its Second Elk Grove Store

Dutch Bros Elk Grove Sheldon Road and Elk Grove-Florin Road

August 25, 2017 |

Tonight at one minute before the witching hour of midnight, or 11:59 p.m., Grants Pass, Ore.-based Dutch Bros. will open their newest location in Elk Grove. While folklore says the witching hours brings out elements of the supernatural, their second store opening is more likely to bring out teens and young adults who find their assortment of coffee-based and specialty drinks especially appealing.

Like their first Elk Grove store on Elk Grove Boulevard and East Stockton Boulevard, this location on the northwest corner of Sheldon and Elk Grove-Florin roads in the Sheldon Crossing strip center, will be open 24-hours a day. Unlike the first location, this new store will feature a double drive-thru and walk-up window to accommodate the expected heavy volume of business.

During the opening of their first store in February, 2015 when customers were offered any free drink for their first 24-hours of business, this location will not open with the same offer. A representative of the locally owned Dutch Bros. outlets told EGN via Twitter given the traffic problems experienced during their first store opening, at the request of the City of Elk Grove, complimentary drinks will not be offered.

Today's opening, a so-called soft opening will be followed by a grand opening festivities in the near future. That opening will be a proceeds day where the day's sale will benefit local charities.
