Vallejo Man Arrested By Elk Grove Police After Allegedly Brandishing Handgun, Possessing Unregistered Handgun

A Vallejo, California man was arrested after he brandished a handgun after a fight in an Elk Grove parking lot.

Just after midnight on Sunday, October 8, Bennie Hopkins, 28, was involved in a fight with another person in the parking lot near Pins N Strikes bowling enter on the 3400 block of Laguna Boulevard. After the fight, Hopkins allegedly brandished a gun.

Responding officer detained Hopkins and was placed under citizen's arrest. A search of Hopkins' vehicle allegly led to the discovery of a unregistered handgun.

Hopkins was arrested and booked into the county jail and was released on bail later that day.
