Police Seek Location of Suspect Wanted in South Sacramento Stabbing Murder

A stabbing that led to the death of one person is under investigation by the Sacramento Police Department.

At 2:15 p.m. this afternoon officers were dispatched to an an apartment in the 2900 block of Riza Avenue regarding a subject who had been stabbed. When officers arrived on scene they located an adult male with at least one stab wound to his upper body. 

Officers on scene administered cardio pulmonary resuscitation (C.P.R.) until relieved by medical personnel from the Sacramento Fire Department. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

Police say this incident is not believed to be gang related. No other individuals were injured at the time of the assault. The suspect remains outstanding and investigators are actively attempting to locate the suspect, whose identity is not being released at this time. 

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to canvass the area for any potential evidence or witnesses. The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
