Six Elk Grove Pothouses Busted, Seven Suspects in Custody After Arrests

A multi-location residential marijuana growing operation was broken-up by Elk Grove Police after executing six search warrants.

The alleged pothouses were located on the 9300 block of Lamprey Drive,  9200 block of Fife Ranch Way, 8400 block of Starlily Court, 5700 block of Tall Grass Way, 5800 block of Deepdale Way and 9500 block of Four Winds Drive. The search warrants were executed by the department's streets crime unit at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14.

During the searches, over 1,600 plants and 95 pounds of processed marijuana were recovered. The seven suspects arrested, all of whom are Elk Grove residents, were Haiying Lin, 30; Jia Weng, 59; Wexsing Zhu Weng, 33; Li Zhu Chen, 55; Mei Chou, 54; Xinglond Lin, 50; and Jin Qui, 61.

All seven are not eligible for bail and are facing two felony and one misdemeanor charges. Arraignment is scheduled for Friday, December 15.
