Firearm Allegedly Shot Inside Elk Grove Residence, Suspect Arrested

An Elk Grove man was arrested after allegedly firing a gun inside a residence as police were in the vicinity.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, Elk Grove Police responded to a welfare check on the 8800 block of Mohamed Circle. As officers approached the dwelling, a gunshot was heard from inside the residence.

After taking tactical positions, officers contacted the occupant of the residence, Joshua Andrus, 34, of Elk Grove, who exited without incident. There were no other occupants at the residence, and there were no injuries.

Andrus arrested on California penal code 246.3.
