In an election cycle where four of five members of the Elk Grove City Council will appear on the November ballot, the one remaining council member continued fundraising efforts.

According to financial disclosures filed with the Elk Grove City Clerk's office, Steve Detrick raised $5,000 for the six month period ending June 30, 2018. The $5,000 was a single donation on May 25 from Taylor Morrison of California, a Roseville-based residential developer.

Detrick started off 2018 with $15,975, received the $5,000 donation and had expenditures of $7,608. The campaign account had a balance of $13,366 as of June 30.

Interestingly Detrick's biggest expenditure was an un-dated $5,000 donation to the Cosumnes Firefighters Community Support Foundation. A 501c3 nonprofit foundation, the foundation is a charitable organization that counts among its annual activities is the Christmas toy drive in Elk Grove and Galt.
