Victim assaulted during early evening attempted robbery at Elk Grove ATM

A person was attacked during an early evening attempted robbery at an Elk Grove ATM.

On Monday, December 31, just after 6 p.m. the victim was at an ATM on the 8400 block of Elk Grove Boulevard when they were approached by an unknown suspect who punched the victim several times. The suspect demanded the victim's cash and property.

When the suspect was unable to take any property from the victim and fled the area on foot. The suspect was was described as an African American male, 20-30 years old, 5’9”, approximately 170 to 200 pounds, and wearing all dark clothing.

No surveillance video or pictures have been released. The extent of the victim's injuries were not disclosed.
