Former El Dorado county gymnastics coach indicted on child pornography charges



An El Dorado County man who was a gymnastic coach was indicted on charges that he attempted to produce child pornography.

On Friday, March 8, Keith Willette, 56, of Cameron Park was indicted by a federal grand jury in Sacramento that alleges he tried producing child pornography. According to court documents, between May 2000 and April 2002, Willette attempted to produce pornography of a juvenile victim.

The charges are the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Rosanne L. Rust and Trial Attorney Jessica Urban with the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section of the Department of Justice, Criminal Division, are prosecuting the case.

If convicted, Willette faces a maximum statutory penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. No trial date has been set. 
Willette is currently incarcerated on a previous charges. One year ago Willette plead guilty to sexually abusing one of his juvenile students and possession of child pornography and was sentenced to 44 months.
