Two arrested for suspected marijuana, narcotics sales near Elk Grove elementary school



Two suspects were arrested with one being charged with allegedly selling narcotics and marijuana near an Elk Grove elementary school

Just before 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October3, Elk Grove Police responded to a call regarding suspect narcotics activity on the 6600 block of Kilconnell Drive. The suspect activity was allegedly taking place within 1,000 feet of St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Elementary School.

Officers contacts a 17-year old Sacramento male juvenile, and Mario Astor Garcia, 18, also of Sacramento, in a vehicle. Police learned Astor Garcia was on probation, and a search of his vehicle led to the discovery of cocaine, marijuana, concentrated cannabis, and indicia related to narcotic sales and a search of the juvenile led to the discovery of marijuana. 

The juvenile was cited and released while Astor Garcia was arrested and booked into the county jail. Astor Garcia is not eligible for release, will be arraigned on Monday, October 7 and face four felony charges including sales of narcotics within 1,000 feet of a school.
