Early morning prowling suspect arrested by Elk Grove Police for probation violations, possession of ballistic vest



An Elk Grove man who is on probation was taken into custody after receiving calls of alleged prowling.

Just after 6 a.m. on Sunday, January 19, Elk Grove Police responded to a call on the 9600 block of Bruceville road of a person looking into vehicle windows. When police contacted Thomas James Nicholson. 30, they learned he was on probation.

Nicholson was reportedly wearing a ballistic vest which is prohibited as part of his probation. A search of his vehicle revealed peppery spray, anabolic steroids, and narcotic paraphernalia.

Nicholson is held at the county jail on three felony and two misdemeanor charges. Arraignment is on Wednesday, January 22.
