A persistent critic of the City of Elk Grove's litigation against companies involved in the District56 lawsuit spoke at last night's Elk Grove City Council.
In remarks made during public comment (see video below), David Anderson, who has spoken at several meetings on behalf of Big B Construction, again brought up an email involved in the construction litigation initiated in the District56 civic and aquatics center. Big B Construction and Arntz Construction are defending a lawsuit by the city regarding cost overruns and the one year delayed opening of the aquatics center.
As he has done in the past, Anderson referred to the email from city engineer Jeff Werner where he says the construction defects encountered with the concrete were because of design problems from Willldan Group, the primary contractor on the facility. Willdan Group is also the city's public works contractor, its largest outside contractor, and a significant campaign contributor to the Elk Grove mayor and city council members.
Anderson also addressed other issues he and Big B Construction co-owner Brian Erickson, who has also spoken at several city council meetings, have discussed over the last several months. The city has not released any updates on the litigation.
Below is Anderon's entire commentary.

All this litigation is hurting the reputation of District56 and the crowds are thinning out! Hey, the cafe is now open and serves up the best grilled cheese sandwich this side of Elk Grove Blvd! And I can hardly wait for the Food Truck Mania event on April 1st from 5:00-8:00pm.
