Steve Detrick’s and Pat Hume’s actions of the last couple of weeks, and what never should have occurred with the urgency eviction ordinance, for those of us who had to fight for our fellow residents and small business owners who need it the most, it begs the question: With their lives of privilege, Detrick and Hume, for all their years on the Elk Grove City Council, have they proven they are completely out of touch with the people they were elected serve?
Elk Grove is not Granite Bay, and with our city’s medium income, most will be receiving the maximum of $1,200 in relief money.
In our part of the world we call Elk Grove, both Detrick and Hume seem to live in this world we share without being aware of the meaning of our world. It is like both of them wandering around our little library without touching the books.
Or am I giving both of them too much credit here?
