Early morning EGPD traffic stop leads to arrest of man suspected of catalytic converter theft, outstanding warrant

A traffic stop by Elk Grove Police led to the arrest of a Sacramento man with outstanding arrest warrants and suspect of catalytic converter theft.

Just after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 5 a vehicle was stopped for vehicle code violations near Sheldon Road and Vytina Drive. During the stop, officers observed burglary tools and learned one of the occupants, San Saechao, 30, was on probation and had an arrest warrant.

Another occupant of the vehicle, Joshua Yang, 37, of Sacramento was issued a citation for possession of burglary tools, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia and released.

Saechao was arrested for possession of burglary tools, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, and his warrant. He remains in custody at the county jail ineligible for bail and will be arraigned on Wednesday, September 9.
