 As they have every two years since 2012, in the next several weeks' Elk Grove voters will select the city’s directly elected mayor. By the look of things, this year’s mayoral election will be more controversial, contentious, and dare we say nastier than earlier contests.

    Neither one of these candidates have any appeal for me. Maybe if Steve Ly gives a better gift than the last couple times, I'll consider voting for him. Seriously though, I would just assume vote from some drunk at Bob's Bar in Old Town than vote for either of these people.

    Did you hear the one about the Granite Bay developer? Walks into the bank and the teller says did you hear about the Mayor race in Elk Grove? Developer laughs, says no problem, I bought two of them and am looking to expand my portfolio!
