The first results released by the Sacramento County show Bobbie Singh-Allen leading incumbent Steve Ly by 47 to 35-percent.
Singh-Allen has 19,358 votes to Ly's 14,270. The third candidate in the race Brian Pastor has 17-percent for 7,140 votes.
