After announcing signature drive for recall of Elk Grove Mayor, one organizer withdraws from effort

Less than 24 hours after a group pushing a recall effort against Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen started gathering signatures, one of the primary organizers has announced they are no longer participating.

Mia Yang-Foster, one of the three organizers of the group calling itself the Elk Grove Hmong Americans announced on social media this morning she is stepping away from the effort.  The message from Yang-Foster did not disclose the reason for her withdrawal and offered no commentary on the recall effort.

Along with EGHA co-founders Marie Vue and Sai Vang, Yang-Foster announced their efforts against Singh-Allen on March 23. The group was disturbed by comments made by Singh-Allen in a published sreport last summer they deemed offensive to the Hmong community and culture.

Yang-Foster did not answer a phone call seeking further comment.
