In-custody death reported by Elk Grove Police

This afternoon the Elk Grove Police Department has reported the death of an in-custody person.

Information about the incident is scant, but on their social media feeds police have said it occurred in the city's Laguna neighborhood near Seasons Drive and Laguna Park Drive. Traffic in the area is restricted as police conduct an investigation. 

The incident was first reported about 4 p.m. today. Their statement said:

"The investigation into an in-custody death is being conducted by the Elk Grove Police Department’s Investigation Bureau,which is standard practice for any in-custody death. At this time the roadway will remain closed and additional info will be released once it becomes available."
