Upping the ante of Mayor's successful five-point campaign promise, Elk Grove District 2 City City Council candidate reveals six-point plan in fundraising letter

In what could be considered a duplication of the successful campaign strategy employed last year by Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, a District 2 Elk Grove City Council candidate is deploying a similar approach.
In a fundraising letter received yesterday, Republican candidate Mahavir Kallirai described himself as a "strong conservative who will follow the Constitution, fight for our rights, and put a much-needed check on the growing power of government." Additionally, Kallairi "I have a six-point plan to enhance our city and to ensure your interests are truly represented on the Elk Grove City Council."
Although Kallirai's letter does not reveal details of the six-point plan, this is not the first time a candidate has presented a plan to Elk Grove voters while campaigning for office. During her successful mayoral campaign last year, Singh-Allen promised voters an unfulfilled five-point plan to alleviate Elk Grove's traffic congestion.
Along with Kalliria, the 2022 race for District 2 includes candidates Cosumnes Community Services District Director Rod Brewer and Elk Grove Planning Commissioner Sergio Robles, who are Democrats. District 2 currently consists of all rural Elk Grove, which has higher Republican registration than the rest of the city, but boundaries change from redistricting could change the composition for next year's election.
Kallirai closed his letter with a direct partisan appeal saying, "Republicans need to deepen the bench if we are going to make a difference in California" and "Your [financial] support will help put our city back on the right track."
The registered Republican recipient of the letter, who asked not to be identified for this story who shared it, said, "I don't know why, but reading this really pissed me off!"
