Elk Grove's city council redistricting to commence with approval of contract

As part of mandated decennial redistricting, the Elk Grove City Council is expected to award a contract to handle the process at its Wednesday, January 12 regular meeting.
The contract to handle the process was submitted after the city solicited bids in November. Only one company, Woodland, Calif.-based Redistricting Insights, responded to the solicitation.
According to the staff report, bid criteria were developed by the city clerk, assistant city clerk, public information officer, senior GIS analyst, and the city's innovation czar. The panel found Redistricting Insight's bid was responsive.
The cost of the process is $50,000. Below is a timeline should the city council approve the contract.
Redistricting Insights is led by former Yolo County Supervisor Matt Rexroat, who was previously with Meridian Pacific, a leading Republican campaign consulting group.
