Tuesday morning funeral procession scheduled in Elk Grove for EGPD Officer Tyler Lenehan; Road Closures

On January 21, 2022, Officer Tyler Lenehan was involved in a traffic
collision involving a wrong-way driver on SR-99. Officer Lenehan was
transported to the UC Davis Medical Center, where he later succumbed to
the injuries sustained due to the collision. Tomorrow, January 25, 2022,
Officer Lenehan’s procession through the City of Elk Grove will begin
at approximately 10:45 a.m.
The procession will begin westbound on Laguna Boulevard from SR-99
to southbound Laguna Springs Drive. It will continue past the Elk Grove
Police Department towards Elk Grove Boulevard. The procession will
continue eastbound on Elk Grove Boulevard to Elk Grove Florin Road,
turning northbound towards Bond Road. Once on Bond Road, the procession
will continue westbound to northbound SR-99.
For those who would like to pay their respects along freeway
overpasses from Elk Grove to the funeral home location in Rescue, CA,
the procession will then continue from Bond Road and northbound SR-99 to
Hwy 50 east. Finally, the procession will exit near Bass Lake Road and
conclude at Green Valley Mortuary, 3004 Alexandrite Drive, Rescue, CA
95672.
Traffic is expected to be impacted. During the procession, there will be road closures at the following locations:
- Laguna Boulevard between SR-99 and Laguna Springs Dr.
- Laguna Springs Drive between Laguna Blvd. and Elk Grove Blvd.
- Elk Grove Boulevard between Laguna Springs Dr. and Elk Grove Florin Rd.
- Elk Grove Florin Road between Elk Grove Blvd. and Bond Rd.
- Bond Road between Elk Grove Florin Rd. and SR-99
A public viewing has been scheduled for those who would like to pay
their respects to Officer Lenehan once he arrives in Rescue at the
Green Valley Mortuary. Those dates and times are as follows:
- January 27, 6 - 8 pm
- January 28, 3 - 5 pm
